Our neighbours were kind enough to lend us their van when our entire family came down to visit so the least we could do was purchase some short term insurance for it. Since our family is quite large and there were so many places that we wanted to take everyone it would have been impossible to fit everyone into our own little car. The other option was to rent a van for a few days but this was quite costly. Since our neighbour had a van, we simply asked him if we could borrow it from him for a few days. Boy, would I love some health insurance. Of course there are health plans I could independently purchase, but most of them are kinda costly and don’t real offer much in the way of coverage. I know “socialism” is a bad word these days, but man are there tenets to it that make a lot of sense. Maybe that’s because I stand to benefit the most from it as I don’t have a massive income. Still, if the measure of a great society is how they treat the weakest then what does that say about the U.S.A.? It says a bunch if you ask me. Anyway, health insurance would be a wonderful thing to have. Hopefully, before too many more people die or become ill because of inadequate coverage our culture will realize that health is basic right that all citizens of a cultured society should have access to. Well, that’s my opinion at least.
